Welcome to the #60ForMe Challenge! The entire purpose of this challenge is to spend a few minutes each day for YOURSELF in order to have an enjoyable, peaceful and more productive end of the year. I’m just like you. We take care of everyone else’s needs and we push ours to the end of the list each day which means we really don’t spend much time on ourselves. I KNOW doing all the end of year, holiday and winter details has your head spinning. . Adding a personal challenge sounds ABSURD. I get it!
So instead, I looked for a way that we could focus just a few minutes a day in order to feel like our mind, body and soul are in alignment with what we really WANT and how we want to FEEL for the last 60 days of 2019. Sound good?
Here’s what we’re going to focus on and what each requires:
MIND
This practice I can directly attribute to Mel Robbins, one of my favorite authors and speakers. I started doing this a few months ago when my life was so “busy” but I would end the day frazzled feeling like I had accomplished nothing. Rather than spell it out-I’m going to have Mel tell it to you directly: https://www.facebook.com/melrobbins/videos/2458452531051476/
During 60 For Me, BEFORE you reach for your phone or any other source of input, decide what one thing is your priority and one step you can take THAT DAY to make progress on your one thing. It’s all about PROGRESS and INTENTION!
BODY
The most simple thing we can do to affect our bodies during this holiday and year end season is to drink more water. Dehydration affects EVERYTHING in our bodies and most of us are routinely dehydrated. Adding more water to your day produces better skin, energizes your muscles and helps your body move things along. Don’t believe me? Read what the experts say HERE!
During #60ForMe strive to drink more water. Here’s how I determine how much to drink: Take your body weight and divide it by two. Take that number and drink that many ounces of water per day. For example…if you weigh 200 pounds you’ll strive to drink 100 ounces of water. Make sense?
*Side note-I am CLEARLY not a doctor or health care professional. If you have questions about water consumption be sure to check with your doctor!*
SOUL
“It’s a funny thing about life, once you begin to take note of the things you are grateful for, you begin to lose sight of the things that you lack.” Germany Kent
This is exactly what we’re going to do. Grab a notebook-no need to buy a new one-I know you have a few lying around already! Put it by your nightstand and before you go to sleep each night write down five things from that day that you are grateful for. These should be small, specific things that you experienced that day-the wind on your face when you were outside, a sweet moment with your favorite person, the tree you saw on your walk that reminded you of grandma. NOT the big things-like your family, your health, your home etc.
